1) SPRING AND EARTH WEEK OUTREACH
- We had a great time and a full house at our Earth Week seminar last Sunday on "Animal Farming Stinks: How the Livestock Industry is Harming the Planet." The most effective and immediate thing we can do to help this earth is replace animal foods with plant foods.
- On Thursday, Earth Day, BVS will do outreach tables at both Boston University and Harvard School of Public Health with our Global Warming display and handouts.
- Next Tuesday we will exhibit at the State House.
- This Spring we have exhibited at Heath Fairs at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, UMass Boston, and Fenway High School, where we also did vegan food sampling and food demos.
- We had our annual two-week window display in Harvard Square in March/April.
- We've been working on a subway and bus ad outreach campaign that you'll hear more about very soon!

3) MEATLESS MONDAYS IN BROOKLINE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Bravo to Brookline! School cafeterias are featuring “Meatless Mondays” during April. ALL menu options for grades K-8 will be meatless, including the hot entrees, sandwiches and salads. The Brookline High School cafeteria will be meatless in the hot lunch line and salad bar. Read more:

The national MEATLESS MONDAY campaign is designed to improve nutrition while focusing attention on climate change. It began in 2003 as public health awareness program linked with Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
Meatless Monday may be thought of as a beginning, not an end. It increases awareness that food choices do matter and gets people started towards a plant-based diet. Learn about others who have taken that step:
